The design of the Club Lounge is contemporary, luxurious with a tasteful dash of boldness. The futuristic spiral staircase is not only a fabulously photogenic spot but also fun to step up/down from one’s room to the Club Lounge.
The Club Lounge offers coffee, tea and soft drinks 24 hours a day, as well as complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour snacks with premium spirits and wines. I was very impressed by the range of dishes offered at the Club Lounge. Usually the ‘happy hour’ offering of a Club Lounge includes only small canapés, but here, it was essentially a generous dinner spread. There is an excellent range of western and Asian options. The service in the Club Lounge is impeccable, with attentive staff always ready to cater to your needs. Their professionalism and warm hospitality ensure a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
The Club Lounge is beautifully decorated with plush dining chairs, tables as well as sofas, providing a perfect space to relax or work while enjoying coffee and tea.
Sky bar with panoramic views
On the top level of the hotel is Havana Bar, a chic sky bar offering stunning views of Shanghai’s skyline as well as the iconic Bund and the Oriental Pearl Tower. As the night falls, this is the perfect place to watch the glittering lights of Shanghai city light up, whilst savouring delicious cocktails.
Sky-high pool and gym
Located on the top floor is a luxurious spa complete with a swimming pool, hot and cold plunge pools and jacuzzi. Guests can enjoy a sky-high swim whilst taking in the view of the Bund through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Right outside the hotel is a beautiful 17-kilometer waterfront promenade, which is one of my favorite spots in all of China. Lined with leafy trees and manicured gardens, this serene area provides a tranquil oasis where locals and tourists alike can stroll leisurely while enjoying panoramic views of the Huangpu River and the iconic skyline beyond. The promenade's design incorporates traditional Chinese landscaping principles with modern amenities, featuring relaxing benches, shaded pavilions and the occasional al fresco cafe.
Spectacular night views
The Pudong area where the hotel is located is incredibly walkable and beautiful, especially at night. As dusk settles, the area transforms into a magical space illuminated by the glittering lights of the city's skyscrapers as well as old heritage buildings across the Bund. The juxtaposition of nature and urbanity creates a captivating ambiance, making it a popular spot for evening walks and romantic outings.
